Roads to Other Realms: Links

This is a collection of websites that we feel TROS fans may be interested in seeing for a wide variety of reasons. Please report broken links and the like to the webmaster.

General RPG Sites

  • The online rescource for independent Role Playing Games and wacky RPG design theory. You don't have to agree with the Forge, but you do have to give a nod to the amazing games that come out of it. This site is also host to the TROS forum.

  • RPGnet probably the busiest RPG discussion board on the internet. It's huge, loud, and a great place to hear the latest gossip in the RPG community. It also contains a huge collection of reviews and advice for pretty much every game out there. TROS owes much of its success to early excitement at RPG.net.
  • RPG Host, like RPGnet, is another massive site for players of all games. There are several attached sites as well, and you can get lost for a long time out there.
  • GAMA: The Game Manufacturers' Association is a non-profit organization committed to the promotion of the Specialty-game industry. They own the Origins game convention, and are general all-around nice guys.
  • The Indie RPG Awards, operated by Andy Kitkowski, began in 2002 in order to set up a hub for acknowledging new and innovative games from independent publishers. This first year has been quite successful.

RPG Convention Sites

  • Gen Con is the world's largest RPG convention (as far as I know). We've attended every year since we started, and we'll continue to do so. "The best four days in gaming!"
  • "The game industry's North American Showcase." TROS premiered at Origins 2002.

TROS Fansites, etc...

  • The Enclave. A few pregen characters for TROS and a conversion for Tribe 8.
  • The World of Myria. This is an alternate setting for both d20 and TROS systems. It's actually quite nice and highly reccomended.
Scott Alhoff's TROS House Rules Page. This is a really important link for TROS fans.
Kandria. An alternate setting for TROS. This is a Yahoo! mailing list with some pretty good discussion.

Non-RPG Sites

The Association for Renaissance Martial Arts (the ARMA). The ARMA is the world's largest Historic European Swordsmanship group, dedicated to the study and practice of the martially sound fighting skills of medieval and renaissance Europe. The ARMA issued an approval of TROS back in 2001, prior to publication. Jake Norwood is ranked as a Senior Free Scholar in the ARMA.

Driftwood Publishing's Artists' Sites (incomplete)

Iron Realm. The home page of Rick McCann, the man behind TROS sorcery and most of the art in the Core Rulebook
Ben Moore. Ben was our #2 artist for the TROS core rules, and primary artist for Of Beasts and Men
Alex Bradley. Alex contributed some of the most stunning and creepy images ever for Of Beasts and Men.
Ed Northcott. Ed contributed several pieces for Of Beasts and Men. Ed's one of the most professional artist's I've worked with.
